Hi everyone! I’m Mila. As an artist, I’m interested in combining different mediums to tell strange stories and create liminal, odd-but-familiar experiences for the viewer. My background is primarily in 2D media, especially painting and printmaking. I graduated from Carleton College with a double major in Studio Art and Political Science.
I’ve taught after-school art classes and workshops for every K–12 age group over the past six years, as well as full-time in a middle school in Harlem and a high school in Williamsburg. Teaching has deeply influenced my practice, sharpening my attention as an observer and appreciator of my city and the people in it.
I have limited experience with digital art. I’ve experimented with AI and have been making electronic music for several years. Until now, technology has mostly been a research tool in my teaching and art-making. I’m excited to expand my ideas and fluency within technology and learn something new.
