I'm not really a fan of the aesthetics of scratch but I enjoy the idea that you can build an object that develops it's own consciousness and ideas, for instance in this case, this train or truck experiencing a dream of itself flying.


After some uninspiring experimentation with scratch, for my project I decided to try out vibe coding. I was curious just how quickly and smoothly something could be created this way. I used the program base 44 and put in a short query. I was surprised at just how well it created my idea with just a bit of information. Feeling a bit like I cheated on this assignment!

I really liked playing around with this simple creation. I even learned some facts about the river with AI. I'd be curious how to use this in a classroom in a way that let's students learn from AI about something they care about.

  1. Hi Mila, I was also surprised by how well vibe coding can bring your website ideas to life without much information. The website already looks very eye-catching and polished, especially if it was generated from just one prompt. It made me think that in the near future, teachers may have to consider how AI can be used in the classroom to facilitate student learning in a meaningful way.

  2. Hi Mila! I really found the way that you approached this assignment to be super interesting and thought provoking. I’m always excited to read your blog posts and see what you’ve made for each assignment because you put so much thought and intention behind each of them. I never would have made the connection between the Hudson River and this coding assignment, and I was able to learn more about a topic I do not know a lot about, and learn how to think more creatively and wholly as a result.
